How to get a FineReport trial?
FineReport offers a free personal trial, including a desktop designer and a local report server, with a limit of 2 concurrent users. If you have business needs, you can schedule a 30-minute demo and get a quote.
Here are the steps to try the personal version:

- Download and install the package
- Enter the trial activation code
- Start your trial!
5 steps to create a report in FineReport
FineReport defines three report creation methods, allowing users to create over ten different types of reports. Next, I will walk you through the process of creating a standard report to show you how FineReport works in practice.

Step 1 - Connect data source
First, connect to the database in FineReport Designer. This allows you to read, write, and modify data from the database. Once connected, you can retrieve data for report design.
Step 2 - Create a table report
Go to File and choose New Report. Select Blank Table Report as shown below. You can also choose from themed templates center.
Step 3 - Prepare data
Use SQL queries to get the data needed for your report, similar to Navicat. Once the query is complete, the data is ready for use in your report.
Step 4 - Design templates and controls
Customize the table layout, including styles, formatting, calculations, and filter functions. For more details: Report Design Tutorial. The process is similar to Excel, but here, each dataset dynamically expands based on the data structure.
Step 5 - Preview and publish
Save the report and click Page Preview to see how it looks on the web.
